Betty Jane Brown, 78, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 28, 2001, at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 31 from the chapel of Burris Funeral Home, with burial in Linary Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Lovell officiated.
Mrs. Brown was born July 3, 1922, in Curry Run, PA, the daughter of Roy P. and Virginia Johnston Curley.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Christian Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Brown of Crossville; son, C. Thomas Brown of Roswell, GA; daughters, Cheryl Kayser of Hilton Head, SC, Cynthia Wildes of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Cathy Sligh of Port Richey, FL; brother, John F. Curley of Clearfield, PA; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were friends and members of VFW Post 5025, Charlie Jenkins, Glenn Cobb, Coleman Vandever, Jerry Playle, Ken Wagner, Jerry Hinch, Victor Lee and Willard Glover.
Burris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
