My Uncle:

Ocie was a kind and gentle spirit. He knew how to joke and knew how to show great compassion. His only son, Ocie Delbert Halbert, Jr., passed on the day he was born.

Once when I was young, my little rabbit died. Within a couple of days he found out about it and went out to get me another one. How very kind he was!

He went hunting almost every year with my parents, and other uncles and aunts. It was quite a caravan of trucks and campers pulling jeeps. They would go to Colorado. Back then you did not hunt for sport, but for food. He did have a large trophy of stuffed animal heads on his den wall.

I treasure my uncle. I am so glad to be apart of his family.

Many thanks to Ken Jones for transferring his memorial to me.
