Memorial. Erected by the city of Philadelphia in 1957, it holds the remains of an unindentified Revolutionary War casualty who had been disinterred from a nearby 18th Century potter's field. The tomb is inscribed: "Beneath this stone rests a soldier of Washington's army who died to give you liberty."
