A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died Monday March 15, 1999 at his home. He was 49. Graveside services at Bethany Cemetery, Baker at noon Saturday conducted by Pastor Joseph Wright. He is survived by his mother Ethel Marie Chaney Whitney, two sisters Marlene Ann Greer of Rockwall, Tx. and Susan Marie Gill of Livingston, La. One grandchild Alaina Brooke Hebert. He was proceeded in death by a son Jason Edward Whitney and his father Gilbert Edward Whitney, Jr.. Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He was cremated and his ashes buried next to his son Jason. Update: Gil's mother Ethel passed on 12-31-2003.
