Mary L. Enderud, 78, a long tome Barstow area resident died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001. She was born on Sept. 20, 1923 in Conrad, Mont. She is survived by her husband, Jesse "Bud" Enderud, Hinkley of 22 years; four daughters, Linda Mennecke of Ohio, Sherre Hankinson of Maryland, Connie Haning of Barstow and Lisa Haning of Washington; son Blaine Haning of Massachusetts; stepdaughter JoLynn Taylor of Arkansas; stepson Lonnie Enderud of Ohio; two sisters, Carlene Van de Kop and Maxine Rupp, both of Montana and brother Don Hoover of Michigan. Mary was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Alan Becker, Robert Becker, Mary Johnson, Michael Becker, David Becker, Tara Bramwell, Michelle Bramwell, BJ Taylor, Zach Enderud, Michael Enderud and Jordy Enderud. Eight great-grandchildren: Amber Lynn, AJ, Chris, Alan, David, Jessica, Brittany and Esmeralda. She is preceded in death by her son, Don Leroy Ness, her parents, Carl and Dess Hoover and, a brother, Robert Hoover. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all that knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Hospice and Desert Valley Medical Center for the care and compassion that she received while under their care. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund in memoriam of Mary Enderud.
