WILSON -- Graveside services for T.D. Alexander, 89, Beaumont, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hewitt Cemetery with Rob Dailey officiating.

Alexander was born Sept. 12, 1912, at Cheek to Ulysses R. and Della O. Roberts Alexander. He died April 30, 2002, in Beaumont.

Raised in Wilson, he graduated from high school in 1932 and married Mildred Vivian Battles on Aug. 29, 1936. In 1941 they moved to Beaumont where he was employed by Beaumont Amoco Terminal for 29 years before he retired in 1972 as superintendent. He was a longtime member of Southside Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 9, 1999; six brothers, Leary, Dawson "Doss," Lavoie, Clint, Lawrence and Kenneth.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Dailey, Sour Lake, Texas; two sons, Jerry, Baton Rouge, La., and Jim, Fort Collins, Colo.; two sisters, Ruby Heinze, Bowie, Texas, and Naomi Copeland, Branson, Mo.; a brother, R.L., Whitesboro, Texas; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from noon until time for services Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home.
