The Rev. Alcorn died Tuesday morning, March 18, 2008 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Greenville on Sept. 5, 1927, the son of Venus T. and Mabel I. Glenn Alcorn.

He married Audrey Fay Laminack in Rockwall on Oct. 5, 1946. She survives.

The Rev. Roy Alcorn was a retired minister and a member of Grace Family Church of Sulphur Springs. He served in the United States Navy.

Other survivors include one sister, Betty Caudle of Yantis; and three brothers, James Alcorn of Garland, W.F. Alcorn of Hartsville, S.C., and L. Lanie Alcorn of Yantis.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, W.D. Alcorn, G.N. Alcorn and Thurman Alcorn.
