Kate Haggard was born Jan 17, 1870, in Clark County, Kentucky, to parents John Tandy Haggard (1825-1903), and Margaret Jane Morris (1830-1902), both born in Kentucky. Kate was the seventh child in a family of eight children. Her brothers and sisters were: Tandy Quisenberry Haggard (1852-1909), Margaret Jane Haggard (1857-1914), Martha O. T. Haggard, (1859-), Annie E. Haggard, (ca 1861-), Bettie Haggard (ca 1865-), Rhoda Haggard (ca 1885-), and Joycie T. Haggard-Huls (1874-1939), all born in Kentucky.
Kate and her sister Joycie married Huls brothers.
In 1916, Kate married Charles Davenport Huls (1870-1951). Charles was a son of Waller D. Huls (1843-1898), and Nellie Jane Scobee (1842-1931), all born in Kentucky.
Kate and Charles settled into a life of farming in Kiddville, Clark County, Kentucky. There were no children.
Kate died on Jan 1, 1951 in Winchester, Kentucky, and is buried with her husband in the Winchester Cemetery.
