Mr Dock Adkison received a telegram of the return of Dennis Adkison's body which arrived on Friday. He was wounded at St Mihiel on July 26 1918 and later died ‘somewhere in France'. His remains were interred at Eight Mile Cemetery, being escorted by his Major and 14 of his pals. A large crowd attended as Dennis was born & raised near Gaskin. Survivors are his father & mother, Mr & Mrs D R Adkison, brothers, Lee, Macon, Newton; sisters Mrs Grover Schofield, Mrs Effie Laird, and Viralla Adkison.
