Leota Schoenfelder, 90 of Presho died Wednesday, February 25 at Mid Dakota Longterm Care in Chamberlain.

Services were 2pm, Monday, March 1, at the United Methodist Church in Presho with burial at Presho City Cemetery.

Leota Mae Schoenfelder was born May 20, 1913 to L.C. and Lula (Thompson) Wells on the ranch in Lyman Co. near Vivian. She graduated from Vivian High School and then went on to attend S.D.S.U. After college she moved back to Kennebec and work at the court house and eventually was elected Lyman Co. Treasurer for 33 yrs. She devoted her life to public service.

She married F.F. Schoenfelder in 1949.

She is survived by her stepchildren Anita Steinfeld of Mitchell, Virginia Casey of Mitchell, Willard Schoenfelder of Kennebec and Dennis "Beans" Schoenfelder of Sioux City IA and her sister-in-law Dolores Wells (wife of her brother Kenneth) of Miller and her family.

She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth in Dec of 1997.
