Herbert Hodges

Herbert Hodges, 77, of Rockdale, died at his home on February 4, 2006,after a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial in the Bushdale Cemetery. Rev. Jack Chelf will conduct the services.
Herbert was born in Quinlan, Texas on June 26, 1928 to John Elton and Inez (Finley) Hodges. He married Odelsa Brown on June 7, 1952 in Clovis, NM. He retired after 35 years with Santa Fe Railroad as a Railroad Engineer.
He is survived by his wife Odelsa Hodges of Rockdale, son, Tommy Hodges and wife Carla of Rockdale, daughter, Cathy Jean Fuehring and husband John of Ft. Worth; granddaughters, Melody Ann Hodges and Tracey Samantha Hodges of Rockdale; sisters, Juanema Staggs of Tularosa, NM, Pat Carpenter of Capitan, NM and Dorothy Reed of Clovis, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill Hodges.
Serving as pallbearers are Bill Avrett, Jim Hodson, Ron Green, Dick Burns, Arlyn Hammett, Lambert Skubal, James Powell and Walter Pond. Honorary pall bearers are Carlton Reed and Jeff Reed.
Herbert was a member of Masonic Lodge in Vaughn, NM. He graduated high school in Ranchvale, NM.
