Dr. Lord was in the active practice of medicine in Logan county for over fifty years. Dr Lord was Treaasurer of the county for six years, having been elected to that office three different times.

He was married the 27th day of May, 1824 to Miss Lettitia McCloud, daughter of Judge William McCloud.

There were five children born to the Doctor and his wife. Maria, the eldest, was the wife of L. G. More, then living near Bellefontaine.

The second, Lucinda, was the wife of Dr. T. L. Wright.

The third, Minerva, married Mr. George Hackenger; she died of consumption in 1876.

The fourth, Richard S. Lord, entered the Military Academy at West Point, and graduated in 1856, who was stationed in the far West previously to the civil war.

The youngest child of Dr. Lord, Caroline, died in early youth.
