"Born on Thursday, 19 October 1826 at Franklin County, Ohio. Married Julia Clayton, a widow. She had two sons; 1) Arthur Clayton, married Mable Potter, she had two boys and one girl. 2) Willie Clayton, was a fireman on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. His run was from Galesburg, Illinois to Quincy, Illinois and back. Jesse and Julia had one boy and three girls: 3) Leslie , was a farmer, 4) Claar, was a schoolteacher, 5) Bertha, was a schoolteacher, 6) Lottie, was a schoolteacher. - Source: Grant Murie
