He was BORN 1/19/1878 in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of Frank & Isabelle Jackson. They came to Texas in 1886, when their son was 8 yrs. old. "Jack" as he was called, grew to manhood while living in the Salty Community. Married Sarah Ruthie Ollie Thomas in 1898. Wife preceded him in death in 1945. Mr. Jackson's death occured just 12 yrs. and 2 days later at the exact date of month. Also, 3 children preceded him in death. He was a farmer in the Salty Comm. and other locations in this area. Member of the Methodist Church for long years.
SURVIVORS: 3 daughters, Mrs. Oma Bost of Melven, AR., Mrs. Tempie Rutherford of Rockdale, Mrs. Ruby Maloney of Houston; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Elbert and Luther Jackson of Rockdale; 3 sisters, Mrs. Irene Berry, Mrs. Ninnie Williams of Thorndale, Mrs. Ollie Copeland of Rockdale; numerous nieces and nephews.
