Caroline was born in Cheesequake.
She was the daughter of Thomas S. R. Brown & Margaret Lambertson Brown.
She married William C Bedle on January 03, 1867, & remained married for nearly 50 years.
Her interests included Sabbath-school & churchwork, affiliating with the Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church. She also promoted the cause of Temperance.
Caroline died in her home in Keyport.

Mrs. Caroline Bedle

Mrs. Caroline Brown Bedle, wife of the late William Carhart Bedle, passed away at her home on Church Street last Saturday evening about nine o'clock. Her death was hastened by the shock caused by the death of her husband. Had Mrs. Bedle survived until the following morning her death and that of her husband would have been just only one week apart.
Mrs Bedle was the daughter of the late Thomas S. R. Brown, who was at one time senator from Monmouth county, and Margaret Lambertson Brown.
She was born near Cheesequake, N.J., on October 17th, 1846.
Mrs. Bedle came to KEyport when a young girl and since then had always resided here.
She married Mr. Bedle on January 3, 1867.
The funeral service was held from her late home Wednesday afternoon, pastor of Calvary M.E. Church, officiated both at the home and at Cedarwood Cemetery, where she was laid to rest along side of her husband. Mrs. Bedle was for many years a member of Calvary Church and took active part in the work of the various organizations connected with it, as well as the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
