BUSSELL, OLIVE EDGELL Died August 26, 2004 of a heart attack at the age of 89. She was born in Pine Grove, West Virginia, June 1, 1915. After graduation from the local high school, she went to work for Fostoria Glass Works. During WWII she joined the Women's Army Corp and served in the Medical Administration Division. After several different assignments in Mississippi and Pennsylvania, she was promoted to Captain. She married Robert Hugh Bussell June 16, 1947 and then resigned her commission. Olive graduated from Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe, AZ. in 1972 with a degree in Sociology/Social Work. She attended the graduate school of Social Work at ASU. She and her husband moved to Riverside in 1978.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Ambert Edgell and Rose Elizabeth Van Camp, her sister Rosemary Cleary, and her husband Robert H. Bussell.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Donald Whitney of Oklahoma City and her grandchildren Jonathan C. Whitney of Las Cruces, NM, Robert T. Whitney of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Geneva C. Whitney of College Station, TX.
