Owen LaNaie Albrecht, age 75, of Wapanucka, Oklahoma, died April 9, 2007 in Durrant, Oklahoma. He was born December 11, 1931 in Fremont, Utah, a son of Owen and Nola Ellett Albrecht. After the death of his father, his mother married Vern Ernstsen and Vern and LaNaie were very close.
LaNaie graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1949. He married Ranae Rees October 22, 1950 in Loa, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 16, 1957. Ranae died January 28, 2005.
LaNaie was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Bishop of the Hanksville Ward, on the Loa Utah Stake High Council and as a Temple Worker at the Manti Temple.
He loved to spend time with his family in Sheep Valley. He loved the cattle, his friends and the cabin. He made many a sour dough hot cakes and biscuits for all that stopped in to visit. He always had a good story to go along with the food.
He was a big fan of the Utah Jazz, win or lose!!! GO JAZZ!
After the death of his beloved wife, Ranae, LaNaie moved to Wapanucka, Oklahoma, where the climate was more condusive to his health.
He is survived by his children: Janet and Dan Barp of Spanish Fork; Dixie Albrecht (Deceased); Terry L. Albrecht of Hanksville; Danny H. Albrecht of Richfield; Dona Albrecht of Richfield; Kelly L. and Laura Albrecht of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister and brother: Millie and Barlow Pace of Loa; Newell and Carol Albrecht of Clarkston, Utah; his mother-in-law, Eris Rees Paskett of Richfield.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Wesley Sherwin Albrecht, Bud Sherman Albrecht and Margaret Albrecht.
