Born in Pittsburg County, she was the daughter of Walter and Matilda (Matlock) Ramsey, she grew up here and had lived most of her life in the Blanco and Pittsburg area. She married Louis G. Fender on Nov. 3, 1935, in Blanco. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1972. For many years she had worked as a cook at several restaurants in this area, including Lee's Truck Stop in Savanna and the Indian Trails Motel Restaurant. She was well known for her made-from-scratch pies, enjoyed playing bingo and was of the Baptist faith. A resident of McAlester, she died there at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
