1846 to 1847
Parents - Patrick & Margaret Bulger Breen.
Wife - Marie Constance "Mary" Pedancet.
Daughters - Geneva (1866) and Mary Catherine (1868-1919).
The First Relief took Simon and Edward from the lake camp in February 1847. Like his brothers, Simon ranched in San Benito County, but did not strive after material success at they did. Simon was known for enjoying a good time and was a colorful figure, a man who enjoyed life. When angry he would use some very colorful language. He had bright-red, curly hair, loved music, had a temper, and was a first rate rider.
