Richard Eugene Rhymer, 59 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006 at his brother, Rick Rhymer's residence, in rural Monroeville.
He was born on Saturday, June 1, 1946 in Frankfort, Kentucky the son of Richard Rhymer and the late Carol (Knefelkamp) Rhymer.
Richard was in the United States Army during Vietnam serving in Germany. He was a member of American Legion Post #420, Monroeville, V.F.W., New Haven and Teamsters Local #414.
Richard was employed as a truck driver for Sunbeam Perfection Bakery for 33 years.
Surviving are his son, Chris (Sara) Rhymer of rural Decatur, Indiana, son, Aaron Rhymer of Decatur, Indiana, father, Richard "Blackie" Rhymer of New Haven, Indiana, brother, Rick L. (Joyce) Rhymer of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Randy W. Rhymer of New Haven, Indiana, sister, Mayann I. Surratt of New Haven, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Charles (Rosemary J.) Hissong of Fort Wayne, Indiana and two grandchildren.
Preceding Richard in death was one brother, Roger D. Rhymer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Pastor Daniel Dahling officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery with the American Legion Post #420 conducting Military Graveside Services.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 3 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana.
Preferred memorial are to American Legion Post #420, Monroeville.
