Richard "Dick" Russell, age 71, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 in Montana.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. John Shedlock, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Bueyeros Cemetery in Bueyeros, New Mexico. Richard "Dick" Anthony Russell, age 71, died on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at the home of his youngest son, Louis Russell, in Bozeman, Montana.

Rosary was held in Livingston, Montana at St. Mary's Catholic Church, at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 22, 2006 in Clayton, New Mexico at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Fr. John Shedlock, pastor officiating, burial followed at 3:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Bueyeros New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors, Clayton, New Mexico.

Dick was born on December 2, 1935, in San Angelo, TX to James Joseph and Margaret (Waring) Russell. He attended high school in San Angelo TX, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in finance from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock TX where he was an active member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Shortly after graduation he was united in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony with Julia Reed. Together they spent a life raising Black Angus cattle and Quarter Horses in Montana and New Mexico. Though he dearly loved his ranches and his cows, his true devotion was to his faith and his family, of which his friends were always a part. Dick was always a devout Roman Catholic, a good man, and a loving father. His involvement in the Cursillo movement in San Angelo TX always had a lasting influence upon him. Dick was an outgoing individual that had never met a stranger, and so was not only involved in agricultural organizations, but was also very active in political issues and the Republican Party. He was preceded in death by his sister Colleen Powell of San Angelo TX.

3 SONS: Sean Steven Russell and his wife Susan of Clayton New Mexico, Reed Russell of Albuqurque, New Mexico and Louis Russell of Bozeman, Montana.

3 DAUGHTERS: Marian Kliene and her husband Billy of Yorktown Texas, Gay Podzemny and her Husband Mark of Wilsall Montana and Clare Davis and her Husband Terry of Ogden, Utah.
