Begay died Sept. 12 in Sanders, Ariz. She was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Ramah into the Towering House People Clan for the Red Streak Running into Water People Clan.
Begay attended school in Pasadena, Calif., and Chicago. She was employed as a merchant at Pine Haven Store and a member of the Full Gospel Ministries. Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening, carpentry, and reading.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Reed of Lukachukai, Ariz., Delores Largo and Becky Wilson both of Pine Haven; sisters, Betty Samuels of Pine Haven and Annie Pino of Ramah; and five grandchildren.
Begay was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Benally.
Pallbearers were Gerald Skeets, Bennie Skeets, Andrew Reed and Colin Moore.
