Floyd Leach, 68, of Newport, an old car buff and collector, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Hospital, Trenton, from complications from neck surgery,
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Bennett Funeral Home, Monroe, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Deacon Ron Cook of Troy and the Rev. Jack Wilson, pastor of the Clark-ston
Missionary Baptist Church and a nephew of Mr. Leach, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Born Feb. 10,1927,in Claiborne County, Tenn.,
he was the son of Loni and Cecil (Dummitt) Leach. He married Yvonne Jacobs on July 6, 1948, in Erie.
He served as an engineer for the Chrysler Corp. for 19 years, retiring in 1982.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from Nov. 29, 1944, to July 11,1946.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 412, McLaughlin Canadian Buick Club, Buick Club of America and the National Association of Watch Collectors. His hobby was traveling to old car shows. In addition to his wife of Newport, he is survived by three sons, Douglas and David,
both of Monroe, and Lonnie of Dundee; three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Diane) Bush of Monroe, Denise Leach of Troy and Mrs. Al (Rochelle) Begin of Lebanon, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Jay (Maude) Wilson of Monroe, and 11 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one daughter, Roslyn, who died in 1982 in an auto accident. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
