Mr. Parsons was born in Waco, Texas, and lived in Mandeville for the past 14 years. He was a human relations representative with Shell Oil Co. for 30 years. Mr. Parsons was a member of St. Timothy's Northshore United Methodist Church. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Miller Parsons; two sons, Jason Allen and Casey Michael Parsons; and his mother, Bonnie Whicker Parsons.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at St. Timothy Northshore United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Drive, Mandeville. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
