James C. Bush, 81, of Lawson, died January 17, 2000 at the Excelsior Springs Medical Center. He was born on August 7, 1918, the son of Walter and Anna (Mote) Bush. in Marceline.
He had served his country in the U.S. Army as a Tech Sgt in Co A of the 140th Inf during World War II. For the past 40 years, he attended every Company A Reunion that was held.
On June 1, 1944 he was united in marriage to Norma Borgmier.
He had worked as a maintenance technician for the G.S.A. of the United States Government, retiring in 1974. Earlier he had worked as a maintenance technician for the VA Hospital in Excelsior Springs.
After retirement he worked as a custodian for the Lawson Middle School for five years.
He was a member of the Old Union Christian Union Church near Lawson. He was a Trustee of the Church.
For a hobby, he loved woodworking and especially making clocks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Herbert Bush, Robert Bush, and Roy Bush; and one sister, Dortha Bush.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Bush of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Zina Bush of Richmond, MO; Rick and Nancy Bush of Liberty, MO; one daughter and son-in-law Becky and John Crowley of Lawson, MO; two grandsons; four granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
There will be no family visitation, however friends may call Wednesday at the Jarman Chapel in Lawson. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 20, at the Old Union Christian Union Church, southeast of Lawson; burial in the Old Union Cemetery.
