From an untitled, undated obituary: 'Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda J. Gentry, 67, who died at 11 o'clock Friday morning at her home at Sumner, were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Little Vine church with the Rev. J. W. Milligan officiating. Burial was at Little Vine Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, W. A. Gentry [Sr.]; one son, Bud Gentry; three daughters, Mrs. Will Purcell of Paris, Miss Maggie Gentry of Sumner, Mrs. Pearl Johnson of Dallas, one brother, Will Floyd of Sumner; and one sister Mrs. Will White of Sumner.'
Tombstone is inscribed 'Amanda J. Gentry, 1864 - 1931.'
