Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m, Tuesday from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. till service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Ms. Peggy was born August 17, 1952 in Bastrop to the late Palmer James and Nolie Wilder Austin. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Henry Austin.
Peggy was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Bastrop. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt. She was a loyal friend and always willing to be of service to others. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Peggy will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She has received her greatest reward, Christmas in heaven.
Peggy is survived by her daughter; Tissie Dora and husband David of Kaisers Aludern, Germany, two granddaughters; Kaylie and Kiara Dora of Kaisers Aludern, Germany, brother; Danny Austin of Bastrop, sister; Dorie Monk and husband James of West Monroe, former husband; Charles Brossett of Monroe, eleven nieces and nephews, twenty-one great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece and one great-great nephew.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dannie Austin, P.J. Austin, Jason Austin, Steven Conley, Scott Millerin, and Jason Gray.
