Added Bio by GJ&RD: Katherine Setzer was born in 1778 in Lincoln County, NC, the daughter of John Setzer and Catherine Barringer. Katherine's grandfather, Jacob Setzer, immigrated from Germany to the US.
She married George Heinrich "Henry" Dellinger in 1805 in Lincoln County, NC. He was the son of Johann (John) Philipp Dellinger who immigrated to the US from Germany. She gave birth to at least 13 children, no small feat in those days. Most of her children settled nearby in Catawba County. No doubt she was able to enjoy many grandkids!
Katherine died in 1855 in Linville Falls, Watauga County, now Avery. She is buried at Pisgah United Methodist Church, Avery County, NC.
