Adela (Bobot) Blatt, 96, of Aurora, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends Tuesday, May 23, 2006. She was born on August 14, 1909 in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Michael and Frances (Misak) Bobot. Adele was united in marriage on June 3, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Frank Blatt. They lived in Harvey, IL until they moved to Aurora in 1940. Adele and Frank spent the next 52 years of their lives together until his passing on December 25, 1985.
Adele was an active member of St. Joseph Church for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Some may also remember her as the smiling pleasant lady in gloves in S.S. Sencenbaughs in downtown Aurora.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Soderdahl; son-in-law, Rodney "Putts" Lundquist; six grandchildren, Lynn (Craig) Kahler, Mark Soderdahl, Diane (Tom) Hinterlong, Paul (Cheryl McNeilly) Soderdahl, Donna (Mark) Melchert and David (Mary Alice) Lundquist; 19 great-grandchildren, Sean and Erin Meenan, Micah (Ryan) Evans, Ryan, David, Brett and Alexandra Kahler, Lindsay and Adam Soderdahl, Brian, Paul, Kari and Kevin Hinterlong, Kelly McNeilly and Kerry Soderdahl, Nickolas and Brittany Melchert, Lauren and Allie Lundquist; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband; her daughter, Jean Lundquist; her brother,Charles Bobot; her sisters, Violet Soya, Frances Kubasak and Stephanie Hansen and her son-in-law, Don Soderdahl.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, May 26, 2006 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr, Sugar Grove. Prayer Service will be held at 4 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at St. Joseph Church, 722 High Street, Aurora, with Fr. Jerome Leake officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 9 AM until the hour of the Mass on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church, 722 High Street, Aurora, IL 60505.
