Kenneth G. "Moose" Spangler, Sr., 78, of The Woods at Cedar Run and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born June 19, 1936, in Shiremanstown, PA, son of the late George Spangler and Pearl (Wrightstone) Kogan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beth Spangler, the mother of his children. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Dot Spangler and Millie Spangler, and a sister, Carol Fernbaugh.

He is survived by his children: Katherine Bennett (Pat) of Camp Hill, Kenneth Spangler, Jr. (Bev) of Dover, Tammy Miller of Mechanicsburg, and Samuel Spangler (Lisa) of Richmond, KY. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Christopher, Tracy, Michael, Sara, Ashley, Emily, Elizabeth, Kenneth III, and Scott; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald "Mouse" Spangler and Jay Spangler; a sister, Kay Rittenhouse; and several stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Moose was a proud Marine.

He was a retired tool and die maker, having served 42 years with AMP, Inc. He was a past Commander of Fox-Eichelberger VFW Post 7415 and was a member of William H. Nauss American Legion Post 143, both in New Cumberland. He was a volunteer with the New Cumberland Fire Department, a coach with the New Cumberland Little League Football and Baseball Associations, an umpire, and a referee. He was also a member of the Seventh Street Tennis Club and the Lower's Lushes Softball Team.
