I knew Dany in high school. We were in ROTC together. I remember when the grief counselor came to our class to tell us about what happened to Dany. Dany was 16 when he suddenly and tragically died in a car accident.
Dany Antonio Alvarenga, 16, of Charlotte died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel. Funeral and interment will be at a later date in El Salvador.
Mr. Alvarenga was born in La Union, El Salvador. He was a student at East Mecklenburg High School and was employed by McDonalds.
Survivings are his parents, Ricardo Alvarenga and Maria Alvarenga, and brothers, Jerber Alvarenga and Douglas Alvarenga, all of Charlotte; and grandparents, Lucio Hernandez, Maria de La Cruz Hernandez and Maria Alvarenga, all of La Union, El Salvador.
