"DR J M LUPHER DIED ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON - Well Known Physician, Practiced at Pleasantville Over Quarter Of Century - WENT TO TOWNVILLE LATER - The wide acquaintance in Pleasantville and vicinity as well as in this city will be interested to learn that he passed away at his farm home, 1 1/2 miles west of Townville, following an illness of about two months. Services in his memory will be conducted from the home, Tuesday at 2 pm, Rev M M Clark, pastor of the Townville Baptist church, officiating, and the interment will be made in Greenlawn cemetery in that village. Dr Lupher was 77 years of age and was a physician of the old school. He began the practice of medicine in Pleasantville in 1881 and for more than a quarter of a century he responded to calls both near and far and all times of day and night. He was considered a very capable doctor of medicine and for years enjoyed one of the largest practices in this section. About seven years ago, Dr Lupher purchased a small farm just west of the borough of Townville, intending to spend the late years of his life in an easy fashion, but he could not turn down the calls for assistance from those in distress and had continued his practice in that section. Dr Lupher is survived by his wife, Mrs Myrtle Lupher; one daughter, Mrs Manda M Davis, who resides in California, and three sisters, Mrs R E Vosburgh of Erie, Mrs Veta Oakes of Wesleyville and Mrs H J Roueche of Meadville."
