Obituary
Estella I. (Howard) Chapman, 82, of Route 1, and a former East Leroy resident, died Friday in Lakeview General Hospital, Battle Creek, where she had been a patient for about three weeks.
She was born in Washogal, Wash., and came to the Fulton area in 1944.
For many years she and her husband, William Homer Chapman, raised and sold vegetables for the Farmers Market in Battle Creek.
They also were founders of the Chapman Berry Farm in East Leroy.
Her husband died in 1967. Surviving are sons, Rex Chapman of Gaylord, Raymond Chapman of Portage, and Robert Chapman of East Leroy; daughters, Mrs. Mary VanMid dlesworth, and Mrs. Joanne Lambert, both of Fulton, and Mrs. Marcia Longman of Jonesville ; 18 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Langeland-Climax Chapel.
