Major League Baseball Player. He was a left-handed pitcher making his debut with the Boston Red Sox on June 27, 1951. For seven seasons, he played with the Boston Red Sox (1951), served in the US Army during the Korean War, returned to play for the Red Sox (1954-56, 1958-59) and the Kansas City Athletics (1960). He played mostly as a relief pitcher finishing his career with a record of 26 wins, 27 loss, 8 complete games, 1 shutout, 29 saves, 212 strikeouts and a 3.37 earned run average.
