She was born October 6, 1945 in Jay, Oklahoma to Glenn and Fannie (Earp) Payton.
She graduated from Jay High School in 1963 and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Lynda retired after 38 years as an elementary school teacher in Siloam Springs. She also lived and taught in Honolulu, Hawaii and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She was a member of the Eastgate Church of Christ. Lynda married Gerald “Jack” Dalrymple on July 10, 1965.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack on December 31, 2011. Lynda was also preceded in death by her parents in 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff Dalrymple and partner Cindy Kugel, and Brad Dalrymple, both of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Ross Payton and wife Doris of Jay, Oklahoma; two sisters, Carmaleta Hamby and husband Glen, and Judy Larmon and husband Don, all of Jay; one brother-in-law, Charles Dalrymple of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Mount Hermon Cemetery, Jay, Oklahoma, with Mr. Steve Stenzle officiating.
