Margie Marie Duke was born in Demont, TX on November 8, 1940. She married Oren "Leonard" Baird on February 3, 1959 in Roswell, NM. Leonard and Babe ranched and farmed in Otero County for the next 55 years. They raised three daughters.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard; daughters, Tammy Lynn Gililland and husband Tommy Pete of Tularosa, NM, Glenda Gale Comey and husband Steve H. of Abernathy, TX, and Debbie Lea Carner and husband Jake Edward of Tularosa; eight grandchildren and 10-1/2 great grandchildren.
Babe went home on February 11, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, February 14, 2014 at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home with Pastor Coy Griffin officiating.
She will be laid to rest at James Canyon Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the funeral home.
