Francis Ward Barnett passed away peacefully at his home in Sandy, Utah on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He was born on January 9, 1937 in Cumberland, Ohio.

Ward graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. He went on to work for Hercules Aerospace Company, EDO Corporation, and Century 21 Real Estate. He and his family moved to Salt Lake City in 1972. A talented poker player, Ward enjoyed spending time in Wendover with his wife. He also loved fishing and golfing with family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Francis (Abe) and Elizabeth (Lib) Barnett. Survived by his wife, Joan, his children, Jay (Betty), Kevin (Karla), Mary Ann (Pat), and
David (Sabrina), his grandchildren, Christine, Marcus, and Ty, his brother, Philip (Eloise), his nephew, Tim, and niece, Jackie.

Ward and his family would like to thank the staff at Wasatch Dialysis, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Quality Solace Services.
