She was born on Saturday, 06 October 1917 in Sioux City, Iowa, and was the daughter of Leonard Meier Sr., and Anna Marie (Karrer) Meier.
Laura married Cecil Long, with whom she had a son, Jerry Long and daughter, Annette (Long) Anselmi Fesler.
She was an attendance secretary at Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa.
After their move to California in 1954 Laura was a counselor secretary at Lynwood High School and an attendance secretary at San Luis Obispo Junior High Shool for 19 years and a year at Laguna Middle School.
she married Sylvester Ramage in 1983 and her family grew to include his three sons, Melvin Ramage, Marvin Ramage and Timothy Ramage.
