Michael "Mike" F. Borden, age 50, of 15 Royal Drive, Lancaster, PA , formerly of Hannibal, MO, died on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at his residence. Born in Hannibal, he was the son of the late Ernest "Ernie" and Georgia M. Bougue Borden. He was the husband of the late Cathryn "Cathy" Lee Crow Borden. Mr. Borden graduated from the North East Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO, with an associate degree in graphic design. He was the vice president of Cadmus Professional Communication, scientific and medical journals, in Ephrata, PA. He was a member and served as an elder at Monterey Bible Chapel, Monterey, PA. Mr. Borden is survived by two daughters, Kara Beth and Katelyn M., both of Lititz; three sons, David of Lititz, Justin M. of Ft. Detrick, MD, and James M. of Chicago; two brothers, David of Hannibal, MO; Steven, husband of Sharon Borden, of Senatobia, MS; two sisters, Kay L. Gemming and Theresa "Terry" Epperson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Epperson.
Michael and Cathryn Borden, both 50, were found shot to death shortly after 8 a.m., after the couple's 9-year-old son ran to the home of neighbors for help. An older daughter also escaped. Michael worked for a printing company and his wife home schooled their children.
