Elvira Barinaga passed away at her home at the age of 94. She was born to Filiberto and Aida Saenz Pena in Guerrero, Mexico. The family moved to Roland, NV in 1916 and at the age of 13, she moved to Jarbidge where she helped her mother do laundry for the miners. She married Pete Barinaga on November 26, 1923 in Twin Falls. After working on various ranches, they bought their own ranch in Lee in 1937. In 1957, they both retired and settled in Boise. She is survived by sons, Pete Jr. of Boise and Albert (Pat) of Grandview, Idaho; daughters, Angie Viscarret of Reno and Rose Oxarango of Rupert, Idaho; sister, Beatrice Ornellas; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband of 62 years, Pete “Buckaroo” Barinaga and seven brothers preceded her in death.
