One of seven airmen killed when B-29 Superfortress #42-63382 crashed shortly after takeoff from Batista Field, Havana, Cuba, during World War II.
The airplane only gained about 200 feet in elevation when power was lost on one side, the wing dipped, and the ship came down nose inverted and exploded upon impact.
