Ramona Joy Frichtl, 56, of Newton, IL passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Funeral services for Ramona will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Shiloh Christian Church, Willow Hill, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday, November 2, at the church. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery, Willow Hill. The family requests memorial gifts are made to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Effingham, Illinois. Ramona was born on February 5, 1957 in Robinson, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Garnet (Yount) York. She married Dennis R. Frichtl on June 14, 1975. He survives. Ramona was a teacher with a degree in art education. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated herself to home education. She loved people, spending countless hours volunteering at her church and the Crisis Pregnancy center in Effingham. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Ramona will be loved and remembered by her husband Dennis Frichtl of Newton; sons Benjamin Frichtl, wife Katlyn of Leesburg, VA and Stephen Frichtl of Newton; daughters Johanna Broscious, husband Jonathan of Newton and Elizabeth Frichtl of Newton; two granddaughters Beth Marie Broscious and Emily Joy Broscious both of Newton; brothers, Frank York of Pittsville, IL and Fred York of Makanda, IL; sisters Ruth Ann Dhom of Newton, Becky Pedraza of Carterville, IL, and Rosie York of Newton; and many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Rita Whitehurst.
