Casualty of the Great War,Robert served with the 8th Bn.attached 2nd/5th Bn.Lancashire Fusiliers. He returned from America in 1915 to join the Forces and went to France in 1916.

He was 31 and the son of Catherine E. Mudie of 35 Claude Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, and the late Samuel Robert Mudie.
