John Hintz, 61, of 127 Highview Parkway died Monday, May 11, 1992 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born March 16, 1931 in Rhinelander. He graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1949 and was employed by Rhinelander Paper Co. for 36 years, until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Hintz married Natalie Schmaltz Sept. 27, 1952 in Rhinelander; she died March 13, 1990. He was a past member of Zion Evangelical Church and its church council. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Hintz is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gray (Debra) Johnson of Rhinelander, one son, David of Rhinelander; his mother, Borghild Olson of Rhinelander; one sister, Mrs. John (Betty) Schwanz; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. David E. Koch officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home and Friday at the church prior to the time of service.
