Obituary
Eleanor L. Atchison, age 87, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2006. Eleanor was born on November 22, 1918, to Robert C. and Dolly Philips in Smithville, Texas.
She graduated as Salutatorian from Smithville High School in 1937. Eleanor worked for Travis County Tax Office, Magee and Moore Adjusters, Longhorn Distributors, Inc. She was a Big Longhorn Fan of Baseball, Football, Men's Basketball and the Lady Longhorns Basketball Teams. She loved her vegetable garden and flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, F. M. Atchison; her parents; brother, Robert Philips, Jr.; sister, Earnestine Kornfuehrer.
She is survived by her sister, Faye Moore and husband Maxie Moore; and brother-in-law, Stanley Kornfuehrer; nephew, Bobby Moore, and twin nephews, Curtis and David Kornfuehrer; great nieces and nephews, Dana, Alisha, Taylor and Ben Kornfuehrer.
The family would like to thank Regency Village Care Center Staff for the loving care Eleanor received during her extended stay and Heart to Heart Hospice of Austin during her final days. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society 124 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78752, and to the National VFW Foundation, 406 W. 34th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 31, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1, at Forest Oak Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
