James Robert Bagwell, 66, passed away, on October 1, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. He was born June 7, 1947, in Monroe County, MS, the son of the late: James William Bagwell and Margaret Stanford Bagwell McGraw. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. He was a meat cutter at Bryan Foods in West Point, retiring after 40 years. He married Gail Baugh Bagwell on July 7, 1967, in Monroe County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Step-Father: Mr. Jim Ed McGraw; Brother: Enith Bagwell, and 2 Sisters: Pauline B. Duke and Mattie Lee Easter.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 4, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donald Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Monroe County.
Survivors include Wife: Gail Bagwell of West Point; One Daughter, Shelby D. Montgomery (Jason) of New Albany; Two Sons, Keith Bagwell of West Point and Johnny Hancock (Whitney) of Monroe County; Three Grandchildren: Charles D. Bryan, Casey D. Bryan, and Taylor N. Bryan and Four Great Grandchildren; and One Brother James E. Bagwell (Kay) of West Point.
Pallbearers will be Roy Thompson, William Bagwell, Greg Fretz, Charles Bryan, Quince Stewart, and Jason Montgomery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas and Nancy Porter, Tommy Simmons, Cecil Pew, Beverly Freshour, Barton Ferry Hunting Club Members, and the Darracott Country Club Members.
