Rites Thursday for Louis Herbold, 71
Louis T. Herbold, 71, of 501 Seventh avenue, a retired painter, died Monday in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1893, at Newton, he was married to Mabel Spencer at Cedar Rapids Oct. 20, 1914. She died June 16, 1960. Mr. Herbold came to Marion from Newton in 1922. He was a member of the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf.
Survivors are a son, Max, of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Wilbur Sawhill of Des Moines and Mrs. Gail Hanson of Marion; eight grandchildren, and five brothers, William of Kalispell, Mont., Victor and Walter of Great Falls, Mont., Charles of Des Moines, and Russell of Seattle.
Services: Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Ernest Mappes of Omaha. Burial: Cedar Memorial. Friends may call at the chapel Tuesday after 7 p.m.
