Rose Batt, daughter of Jacob Gettman and Anna Marie, nee Stroh, was born on 3 September 1895 in Max, Nebr. As a young child she was given to the Lord in Baptism. In her 9th year she came to Loveland, Colo., with her parents and entered grade school, and was also confirmed in Loveland. The deceased went to Redfield, South Dakota in 1914, where she entered college and later graduated with a musical degree. She married Pastor George Batt in 1919 and was very active in the church and a big help to her husband. She suffered most pain and anguish by the death of her husband in 1942. A year ago she suffered much and had to have a major operation from which she never fully recovered. She died in her home on Feb. 6, 1950, at age 54 years, 5 months and 3 days. She leaves her daughter Miriam; 3 brothers, 2 sisters. Amelia and Conrad Gettman, Cheyenne, Wyo., Johann Gettman in Deming, Wash., Joseph Gettman of Berthoud, Colo., and Lea Gettman in Los Angeles, Calif., many friends and acquaintances. Service was in February in Loveland Church. All Pastors of the Colo. Conference were here. Pastor Rohenlerge held the German service and Pastor Flemmer the English. She was laid to rest in Loveland Cemetery.
