BROOKLINE Lester Allbee, 93, died September 20, 2013 at Grace Cottage Hospital. He was born February 5, 1920 in Brookline to Gerald and Ruth (Osgood) Allbee. He married Carol Blakeslee on Nov. 16, 1940 in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. They initially resided in Chester, before calling Brookline his true residence.

Mr. Allbee is survived by his sons, Bruce of South Burlington, and Neal of Bend, Ore., five grandchildren and six -great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol; brother, Harlan and sisters, Gladys, Deane, and Ruth. Mr. Allbee is remembered for his quick sense and use of humor and his generosity in giving his time and efforts to helping others. He was a highly skilled Saw Mill operator who had a keen eye for getting the most lumber out of logs, and a masterful dozer operator who did not require a transit for knowing when "grade" had been achieved.

FUNERAL NOTICE: There will be no calling hours and a memorial will be held at the NewBrook Fire Department in Newfane on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.

A celebration of Life The family of Lester Allbee, who passed away on September 20, is inviting family and friends to join them in honoring his 93 years of life. This celebration well be on Sunday November 3rd at 12:30p.m. at the NewBrook Fire Station on Route 30 just North of Newfane.
