Deceased Name: WILLIAM S. FRITZ

William S. Fritz, 81, of Dexter Street, Lee Park section of Hanover Township, died Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born June 5, 1922, in Ashley, he was a son of the late Nathan D. and Catherine (Price) Fritz. He attended Ashley schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Harry Hass & Sons Co. and Harry Kemmerer & Son Co., Ashley. He attended Ashley Centenary Methodist Church. He enjoyed picking blueberries.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nathan, Edward, Robert and Willard (Chooch); and great-grandson, Devon Michael Otto.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Shirley Engle; daughters, Amber, Ashley; Suzanne Kaposich, Lee Park, Hanover Township; Sally, at home; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucie Azain, North Brunswick, N.J.; Martha Dombroski, Rahway, N.J.; Catherine Titus, Baltimore; Bessie Connole, Detroit; brothers, John, Linden, N.J.; Ronald, Toms River, N.J.; and Thomas, Dunmore.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. John B. Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday.
